Not Your Typical 4th of July

America, you’re another year older and we’re ready for another epic birthday celebration. There’s nothing wrong with watching some fireworks in the night sky, sporting your red, white and blue and whipping up some all-American cuisine, but we’ve got some alternative and oh-so-fun ideas to switch things up this July 4th!

Celebrate like a (BIG) kid!

Many of us have some star-spangled childhood memories of the 4th of July, so why not pay tribute to your days as a carefree kiddo with a party that’s [sidewalk]-chalk-full of those classic summer activities you loved in grade school. We’re talking an old-fashioned water-balloon fight, hopscotch, pin-the-tail on the donkey, even hide and seek! Give out silly prizes reminiscent of childhood times like yoyos, Lipsmackers®, Bubble Yum and slap bracelets! Make an all-American playlist to help you travel back in time. We’re talking Jack & Diane, American Pie, and Born in the USA baby! If you live in a neighborhood with friends who love to celebrate together, arrange a kickball or t-ball game. Of course ask everyone to bring out the best of their red, white, and blue wardrobe – bonus points if outfits include attire they’ve had since 7th grade. Pull out all the stops and see if a local ice cream truck will make a pit stop out front. As the sun sets, break out the marshmallows and enjoy some s’mores. You’ll eat, play and laugh like a kid again, plus, you’re allowed to stay up way past your bedtime!

Diversify your Dogs!

America’s favorite pastime: the hot dog. But let’s be honest, it’s 2019, not 1776, and ketchup and mustard just won’t cut it for all that’s possible with this 4th of July staple. Time to pay honor to the America of today, a mix of cultures, ethnicities, and CONDIMENTS!  Let’s get creative with our wieners. Here’s some inspiration for a unique twist on the average hot dog featuring ingredients from the America of today:

  • Authentic Taco Dog: Chihuahua Cheese, Pickled Red Onions, and Grilled Pineapple
  • Hot Dog Parmigiana: Marinara, Basil & Mozzarella
  • French Countryside Dog: Caramelized Onions & Brie Cheese, Grilled Fig
  • Bahn Mi Dog: Pickled Veggies, Sriracha Mayo & Cilantro
  • Crispy Korean-inspired Dog: Kimchi, Fried Shallots and Gochujang
  • Mediterranean Dog: Feta, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, fresh oregano

And if you really want to pay tribute to America, why not put the whole bbq on your dog: baked beans, American cheese, Cole Slaw and Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips! And don’t skimp on the condiments for fear of messy faces and sticky fingers. Our body cleansing & personal use wipes make for a pocket-sized clean up in seconds and our all-natural mosquito repellent wipes will make sure you’re bite-free while you’re filling up on franks!
